It is likely not the case, but I thought I would check to see if the price given of $149.99 is a pricing error?

This is 5 CDs, which means they are $30 each? While the Dial of Destiny CD by itself was 12 dollars (but does not appear to be available any longer)?

This can't be right. I purchased the prior release of all the Indiana Jones soundtracks (at the time) from Concord records. It was like $65 for 5 CDs (one for each movie plus a bonus disc).

It seems as if this is at least double what it should cost. These aren't 2-discs sets (total 10 CDs) right? That would make more sense.

I'd like to buy this, but I do not like the price. I realize it is a limited edition. I am familiar with limited edition soundtrack CDs. They usually go for $20 for one CD and $30 for a 2 CD set. Which is why I asked if these are 2 CDs for each movie. But that does not appear to be the case.

Can you provide any additional information that might be useful? WHY does this cost $149.99?

Thank you.

The Disney Music Emporium's Reply...

A commenter on the Film Music Reporter website writes, "So, first, Disney created an artificial shortage with a limited release for the last film to later force fans to buy an over-expensive box set that doesn’t contain the extra-disc with a good part of the previous scores! What a scam".

Yeah, that sounds accurate to me. I'd like to buy this, but not at Disney's overinflated price of $150. It should be HALF that. I'll stick with the 2008 Concord Box Set.

Someone on jwfan.com writes, "50$ would be an appropriate price ... But 150$ is just greedy and unethical. Shame on Disney. Really". Another person writes, "The price is awful. It has nothing to do with being able to afford it either. It's simply overpriced".

I agree completely.

After checking I see that the track listing for the first 4 films on the Disney Box Set and the 2008 Concord Box set are exactly the same. The Dial of Destiny didn't exist when the Concord Box was issued.

The material on disc 5 of the Concord release is absent from the Disney reissue.

Disc 5: Interviews and More Music from Indiana Jones. Total Disc Time: 51:51
01. Raiders March from Raiders of the Lost Ark 2:28.
02. Interviews with John Williams, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, Hosted by Laurent Bouzereau 17:56.
Raiders of the Lost Ark. Track 3
03. Uncovering the Ark ** 05:30.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Tracks 4-5
04. Indy and the Villagers * 3:51.
05. The Secret Passage * 03:28.
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Tracks 6-11
06. Father's Study * 2:25.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Track 12
12. Return to the Village/Raiders March * 3:26.

**Includes previously unreleased material.

As per a comment on Reddit, "It is very disingenuous to call this complete when it doesn't include the bonus tracks from the 2008 collection. Cues like "Wrong Choice, Right Choice" and "Father's Study" are pretty vital. Feels like a very low effort reissue".
