I just received an email with a long list of items I had for sale on Amazon that have been deactivated. The reason given is "high price error". I started going through them and found very quickly an item for which the price is "too high". My price was $150. I looked at it and found another seller is offering it for $499.00.
Why is my price too high at $150 but another seller's price of $499 is not "too high". This makes no sense. Though I'm sure I will find many more that the same thing is true of -- which is that other people are being allowed to sell the exact same item for more. Amazon is favoring these sellers and is taking out their competition? That seems like a possibility to me.
My bad. I just spoke with "seller support" and was told the problem is my price is too low. Amazon is completely clueless when it comes to limited edition soundtrack CDs. I checked the price at Discogs and see it being offered for 90 euros plus shipping by someone there. So I could lower my price. The person selling it for $499 is hoping they will get lucky and a cluess and very rich buyer will have to have it. This is ridiculous.
The email actually says there are "pricing errors". I've received "too high" notifications before and I assumed this was another of those.
